The origins of Spitzner
Our company history goes back to 1949 - it all began in the ‘Pharmaceutical Laboratory Ettlingen’ founded by pharmacist Professor Dr. Wolfram Spitzner in 1949. Pinimenthol, a key cold and cough product, was developed here. With W. Spitzner Arzneimittelfabrik GmbH, we continue to live up to over 75 years of company tradition as a family business with origins in medicine and pharmacy and a passionate conviction in the healing power of plants.

A journey through history
Since 1949, the entire manufacturing process has been carried out in our own pharmaceutical production facility in Ettlingen. On an area of approx. 17,000 m², we provide a comprehensive modern production process and quality assurance in accordance with strictly controlled specifications that apply to the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. The core areas are the expansion of our own brand portfolio and pharmaceutical contract manufacturing. Our specialisation in contract manufacturing lies in liquids and semi-solids and we also provide pharmaceutical services such as pharmaceutical logistics/pick & pack.

Our mission: to preserve the tradition of the original W. Spitzner factory and to supplement it with innovative products and processes in order to establish an international leading company in the field of pharmaceutical and branded cosmetics. With the aim of producing the best products for health and well-being for future generations at the Ettlingen site.
